K Street

this... is where we are going to live. welcome to the tour of our teeny tiny apartment. moving august 1st. it's 500square feet, but a few things helped sway me (us).

1) it's on the top floor, so we won't have to hear people walking around above us. we'll BE those people. (yes, there is an elevator to get us up the 7 flights of stairs)
2) it's a corner unit, so each room has lots of light.
3) it's right by a metro stop, the bus stop, and walking distance to GW med school and 90% of the design firms in DC. we won't be bringing a car... but we will be bringing our vespa! there's a great little parking nook for her in the back.
4) there's laundry in the building. sure, it would have been nicer if it was in our apartment... but actually, have 4 machines to my disposal at any time could be better. ALL the laundry can be done in the time one load can. we have yet to see another person in the laundry room... which is a good sign.
5) TRADER JOES! 2 blocks to our North. Yessssss. We really wanted to be walking d
istance from a grocery store, since we won't have a car.

anyway, on to the tour...

floor plan: our field measurements don't quite add up... as you will see by the discrepancy space. but this gives you a general idea.
living room:

kitchen: pretty basic... but to have a dishwasher, gas range, oven with TWO racks in it, and a garbage disposal... it's not a bad deal. what color should i paint that back wall? or maybe all the kitchen walls?

dining nook (which won't fit a dining table, if you were wondering)

bedroom:
bathroom: pros and cons of old buildings with original tile. adorable, but also some grout that needs serious attention...

so there you have it. please come visit us... it's going to be quite lonely living so far away.
